Music Therapy
Music Therapy is the clinical and
evidence-based use of music interventions to accomplish individualized goals
within a therapeutic relationship by a credentialed professional who has
completed an approved music therapy program.

review. By assuring our Music Therapists are the best trained, most qualified,
and up to date on current practices, we assure our services will be of the
highest quality and provide the best probabilities of movement toward desired
outcomes and goals.
A variety of people can benefit from music
therapy, including children, adolescents, adults, and the elderly with mental
health needs, developmental and learning disabilities, Alzheimer's disease and
other aging related conditions, substance abuse problems, brain injuries,
physical disabilities, and acute and chronic pain, including mothers in labor.

TAILORED TO THE CLIENT’S INTERESTS, NEEDS, AND PERSONAL GOALS.
ASSESSMENT
Music Therapists
working with AccessAbilities, Inc. utilize the most up to date assessment and
measurements for Music Therapy, in combination with qualitative observations
and Client feedback. The outcome of these assessments will be the creation of a
treatment plan that will help to organize the time spent in sessions with the
Music Therapist.
MUSIC THERAPY TREATMENT PLANS
After a sufficient
amount of evaluation and treatment, a Music Therapist will create a plan for
working with a client that is tailored to their unique wants, needs, goals, and
barriers. Utilizing Music Therapy practices and techniques, the Music Therapist
will work towards those goals at a pace that is productive and meaningful to
the Client.
CONTINUED SUPPORT
AccessAbilities,
Inc. assures our Music Therapists are available for consultation and addressing
any questions related to the direction of services. It is the goal of
AccessAbilities, Inc., and our programs, to assure Clients always feel as
though they have direct access to the professionals providing services.
THE DEVELOPMENT OF A TEAM APPROACH
To promote a team
approach, Music Therapists include as many persons who are knowledgeable about
the Client in the process of assessment, planning, implementation, and
measurement.
DOCUMENTATION
After the creation
of the Treatment Plan, the Music Therapist continues to measure, adjust, and
document work being done. This comes in the form of monthly and quarterly
summaries that are shared with the inter-disciplinary team, as well as the
Client, family, and other stakeholders.
IN-HOME OR OFF SITE SESSIONS
The programs in
Music Therapy provided by AccessAbilities, Inc. offer the Client and their
family a high level of flexibility and choice in the provision of services.
Sessions can take place in the home, in the community, or at our facility.
Decisions about location can be made based on comfort level, space, need. The
location of services can be adjusted at anytime to assure the highest quality
and most effective use of services.
